Clinical Interests: Hip and knee reconstruction surgery; rapid rehabilitation after total joint replacement; robot - assisted partial knee replacements.
Research Interests: Prevention of infection after total joint reconstruction. Partial total knees and use of robotic assisted surgery for implant positioning.
Notes: Dr. Beal joined at the orthopaedic staff at OSUMC in 2010. He is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Orthopaedics for the OSU College of Medicine. His clinical and research areas of interest include arthritic disease of the hip and knee, the treatment of arthritic disease with joint replacement, and the treatment of arthritic disease with partial knee replacement and robotic assisted partial knee replacement.
A native of Ohio, Dr. Beal attended undergraduate and medical school at The Ohio State University. He did his orthopedic residency at the University of Chicago in Chicago. He then completed an orthopedic joint replacement fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. During his fellowship, Dr. Beal was trained in the complex reconstruction of the hip and knee.
Dr. Beal is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, the American Orthopaedic Association, and Mid-American Orthopedic Association.
